April 22 1:30pm
Palmetto Course at the Landings
Join us on April 22th at 1:30 pm for a 4 player scramble tournament benefiting GoDesign. This year we have set a new goal! We plan to raise $50,000 during the golf tournament to build a new Kindergarten in Uganda. Your participation in this tournament will help us reach that goal. Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place teams, closest to the pin and longest drive.
Arthur Hills designed the Palmetto course and it is considered by many to be the Landings most challenging course. Palmetto opened in October of 1985 and was the fourth course on Skidaway Island. The first six holes on Palmetto issue the challenge. If you are able to answer, the next nine are a little reprieve, but look out for the 16th, 17th and 18th. The 10th hole has one of the most beautiful oak trees on the island, just to the right of the green. The 13th hole has the gravesite of Mr. Philip Delegal, an early settler of Skidaway Island. Palmetto Clubhouse overlooks the peninsula green of the 18th, surrounded on three sides by a lagoon. We hope you will make plans to join us and play this unique course!
